As we explore the incredible opportunities in using Virtual and Augmented Reality in the learning environment, we will face new questions on digital literacy and ethical issues. Immersive technologies and artificial intelligence will soon blur the boundary between the real and the virtual, leading to deeply realistic immersive experiences. Do we need a new understanding of digital literacy when our actual human experience is no longer the touchstone for reality? How will we address the ethical issues and emotional impact on our students and programs in the academic community?
